Twig World has announced its major distribution deal with Spanish-language publisher Santillana.

Santillana has a presence in more than 40,000 education establishments in Spain and Latin America, giving it access to 30% share of the Spanish-speaking market. A co-branded Santillana-Twig website will provide over access to around 1,000 science films to the publisher’s schools in Spain, Peru, Argentina, Chile and Colombia.

Twig is nominated for in the 2012 Education Resource Awards and the 2012 Learning on Screen Awards.

Very pleased to announce that Twig Science is a finalist in the 2012 Education Resource Awards in the categories Best Secondary Digital Content and the Innovation Award.  The ERAs highlight the quality and diversity of educational products and resources.  The ERAs will be held on the 16th March in Birmingham during The Education Show 2012.

Twig is also a finalist in the Learning on Screen Awards 2012, in the Courseware and Curriculum Awards category. The Learning on Screen Awards celebrate and reward excellence in the use of moving image and related media in learning, teaching and research.  It is an award from the British Universities Film & Video Council.  The Learning on Screen Awards are at the BFI Southbank, London on Thursday 26 April 2012, presented by Professor Lord Robert Winston.

Twig has also been awarded Best in Class in the Science/Technology category in the Interactive Media Awards 2012. The award recognises the usability and innovation of content, and the technical functionality of sites.  We achieved a total score of 100 out of 100 for our content, 99 out of 100 for our feature functionality, and 97 out of 100 for our design.  Overall, Twig scored 488 out of 500 for the five judging criteria.

Twig is a digital education innovator based in Glasgow and London, where I am currently Head of Content.  These awards come soon after Twig Science was named Best Secondary Content provider at the 14th annual BETT Awards 2012, considered to be the most prestigious in the digital education sector.
